Tour in Paliki
Visit the peninsula of Paliki, by boat starting from Argostoli. Land at Lixouri and browse the streets with shops and cafes.
Alternatively, follow the main coastal road to enjoy the scenery of the route. Once at the Livadi (Meadow) area just before Lixouri, turn right and head to the spectacular Petani beach. At noon you can eat fresh fish and other local delicacies in the taverns.
Take some time to visit the neoclassical building of Iakovatios Library with its rare collection of books, manuscripts, Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons. Bear in Xi beaches or Great Pit with their red sandy beaches to enjoy the sea and the unique landscape. Try local dishes and fresh fish in the taverns of South Beach Paliki. Then walk through the villages of Mantzavinos and Soullari where residents traditionally deal with winemaking. If you are there in late August, you will be able to watch the winemaking process in the courtyards of their homes. Just before the sun sets to make sure you are on the terrace of Kipouraion Monastery to enjoy the best sunsets on the island. Turn back to Lixouri and stop for a cool drink in the city’s bars.

Poros - Skala
Start your trip in southern Kefalonia with a visit to the Mycenaean vaulted tomb located just outside the village, in Janata. Heading to Poros make a small deviation in order to see the oldest monastery of the island, the monastery of Theotokos Atros. The landscape of the monastery is truly amazing. Exit back to the main road where crossing the beautiful gorge of the island will take you to Poros. You can stop there for a while before continuing on the coastal road to reach the Skala resort on the beach and its beautiful water. In the village of Skala, do not miss the ruins of Roman villa with wonderful mosaic floors.
Afternoon: You can choose one of the restaurants in Skala for your meal or head to the seaside village of Kato Katelios to taste fresh fish or spaghetti with lobster. For wine lovers there is an estate with an elegant winery, near the village Mavrata, which can be visited.
